Jean-Marc Germain joined Algeco Scotsman in March 2012 as chief executive officer. He is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of the global company.
Prior to joining Algeco Scotsman, Jean-Marc worked for Novelis, a $10.6 billion aluminium sheet and light gauge products company. Most recently he served as the President for Novelis’ North American operations, a $3.9 billion unit based in Atlanta, Georgia USA. He had P&L responsibility for operations at 11 plants. Jean-Marc spent seven years at Novelis in a variety of leadership roles where he oversaw operations, sales & marketing, strategy and supply chain activities. Prior to Novelis, he worked for Alcan/Pechiney in France where he held leadership roles in operations, financial planning, and strategy. He has also worked for GE Capital and Bain & Company in a variety of international business management roles.
Jean-Marc is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France.
As executive vice president of global lean operations, Jon Veldman is charged with the development and implementation of a global operating system for Algeco Scotsman. The new system, "The Algeco Scotsman Way," will improve productivity and create efficiencies across 21 countries. The improvements made will ultimately result in superior customer satisfaction for the company's modular space solutions.
Prior to joining Algeco Scotsman, Jon was the vice president of global operations for Carrier Corporation where he was responsible for operational improvements in sites located in 16 countries across North America, Europe, The Middle East and Asia. Prior to joining Carrier, Jon held various operating positions of increasing responsibility.
Throughout his career, Jon has lived in several countries in addition to the US, including Spain, France, Sweden, Brazil, Japan, and Singapore. Jon received two bachelor's degrees - one in physics from Hope College and another in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan. He earned a master of business administration degree from Ashland University.
Michael Hartigan was named vice president of strategy and business development of Algeco Scotsman in January of 2011. In this role, he is responsible for emerging and developed market growth strategies and supports active business development efforts around the globe.
Michael works closely with Algeco Scotsman's leadership team, as well as the operating teams in North America, Europe, The Middle East and Asia. He oversees the company's expansion plan including acquisitions and joint ventures.
Prior to joining Algeco Scotsman, Michael was the vice president of service and operational excellence at Otis Elevator, where he led the development and execution of worldwide strategy for Otis' global service business. In this role he also managed the implementation and execution of lean and quality programs in Otis' branch operations and factories worldwide. Prior to that, Michael held positions of increasing responsibility at Otis including: president, North American Elevator Service and vice president of worldwide marketing and business development. Before joining Otis, Michael was the director of corporate strategy and development at United Technologies Corporation and he was a former project leader at the Boston Consulting Group.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Joseph Vecchiolla was promoted to senior vice president of US field operations in April 2011. In this role, he is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of Algeco Scotsman's US business. He delivers the US financial forecast and implements strategic programs with an emphasis on accelerating profitable organic growth across the region.
Joseph oversees the US sales, operations and administrative functions. He also collaborates with business unit leaders throughout the rest of North America, as well as Europe, The Middle East and Asia.
Prior to his current position, Joseph served as vice president of the Eastern Region of the US where he managed the financial and operational performance of branches in Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, North and South Carolina, and West Virginia. He focused on devising and implementing strategies that successfully increased revenues and created new opportunities to further serve customers in the area. Joseph is known for implementing innovative procedures aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
Joseph joined Williams Scotsman in 2002 as vice president of marketing and corporate communications. Previously, he was president of the Bradley Media Group, a full-service advertising agency that he founded and managed.
He has served as a board member of the Modular Building Institute and is an active member in several other professional associations.
Azuwuike Ndukwu was named vice president and general counsel for Algeco Scotsman in April 2011. He is responsible for the worldwide legal affairs of the company. Azuwuike serves as secretary to the Algeco Scotsman board of directors and as a member of the Algeco Scotsman leadership team, providing legal perspective and advice on a wide range of strategic and operating issues.
Azuwuike assists with strategic efforts to optimize the company's capital structure and ensure strong diligence for select acquisitions. He also contributes to the company's business practices, policies and procedures. His responsibilities cover a broad array of legal matters and he reports directly to Duncan Gills, president and chief executive officer of Algeco Scotsman.
Prior to joining Algeco Scotsman, Azuwuike worked for United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a 60 billion corporation that provides technology products and services to customers in the aerospace and building systems industries around the world. He held various roles of increasing responsibility including attorney and business executive during his more than two decades of service with the company. Before UTC, Azuwuike was vice president, general counsel and secretary of Standish American Capital. He began his professional career as a law clerk to the Honorable Jonathan Kaplan at the Connecticut Superior Court.
Azuwuike received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Connecticut, School of Law. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree in business and international relations from Michigan State University.
As chief information officer, Lawrence Kumor leads a global team of more than 95 staff members, providing global strategic vision through aligning IT objectives and programs to enterprise objectives and strategies, integrating information systems, and implementing strategic technology goals.
Lawrence provides enterprise-wide technology support, establishes strategic service provider partnerships, and defines metrics based on overall business objectives. Additional responsibilities include purchasing innovative solutions, assuring equitable distribution of resources across business segments, managing the IT portfolio, reviewing capital investments, and oversight of IT security.
Lawrence has a diverse background in business operations, consulting and technology. Prior to joining Algeco Scotsman, Lawrence was vice president and chief information officer for Philips Lighting North America, which is part of Philips Electronics, one of the world's largest, globally-diverse industrial companies. Prior to Philips, Lawrence was vice president of enterprise applications for Scotts Miracle-Gro, the world's leading supplier and marketer of consumer products for lawn and garden care. Prior to that, he served as the director of supply chain applications for the global company.
Lawrence earned his Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management and decision sciences from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from Temple University
